A wealthy magister lies dead in a park and witnesses swear a demonic dog ran him down. Urban fantasy detective mystery of family curses, crooked business partners and one very literal Hound of Hell.
A supernatural detective mystery with a hellhound killer, cursed magic, and a case of greed and deception.
It’s a dog-eat-dog world.
When wealthy magister Richard Brook turns up dead in DeWitt Clinton Park, witnesses claim a demonic dog chased him through the early morning fog. Detective Leery Oriscoe, a werewolf investigator with New York’s Supernatural Inquisitors Squad, and his partner Dru Nogan, a half-succubus warder with connections in Hell, catch the case.
The choice is elementary, really.
As Leery digs for bones, he and Dru uncover a curse laid on the Brook family by a disgruntled warlock and the greed of Brook’s cocky magister business partner, a man with the skills to summon a Hound of Hell. With Dru working her connections in Gehenna and Leery following the trail on the ground, the detectives must eliminate the impossible and see what remains.
Can they uncover enough truth to arrest a Sure ’Lock?
Sure ’Lock is Book Eight in the Claw & Warder series, perfect for readers who love supernatural police procedurals, paranormal courtroom drama, sharp gallows humour, and urban fantasy in the vein of Jim Butcher and Ben Aaronovitch.
