Red Is Democrat: What Happens When a Party Forgets to Change
by Daniel Alan Brubaker, PhD
Do today's Democrats really stand for the values they claim—equality, justice, science, compassion? Or have those ideals become a smokescreen for something far more troubling?
In Red Is Democrat, Daniel Alan Brubaker, PhD, takes readers on a bold, meticulously documented journey behind the public image of America’s Democrat Party. With clarity and conviction, he examines the disconnect between the party’s professed values and its actual policies and historical trajectory. What emerges is a revealing look at how a powerful political movement has managed to sidestep accountability—often by rewriting its own past and projecting its faults onto others.
Have the parties really flipped? Or is that narrative a carefully constructed myth? Why do so many of the injustices Democrats say they oppose—racism, intolerance, misogyny, injustice, greed, and so forth—persist within their own ranks? And how can ordinary Americans across the political spectrum cut through the noise to find the truth?
Whether you identify as a Democrat, Republican, Independent, or simply a concerned citizen, this book invites you to look past slogans, scrutinize the record, and reconsider what it really means to stand for justice and truth in public life.
