Is everything the way we see it? Or think we see it? The eyes play tricks as does the mind. What remains is just the willingness to see the same thing in a different light.
Written in a voice that is sparse, honest, and sometimes playful, "Seeing the Same Thing in a Different Light" is a collection of contemplative passages, each born from a single word drawn from the tapestry of human experience. The passages do not explain or instruct. They simply offer a different angle of light on words the reader already knows.
The opening passage:
(-)
Silence
Between sounds.
Between words.
Between thoughts.
Between breaths.
Between the last scream of the mother
And the first cry of the baby.
Between the cheers of the crowd
And the victory of the goal.
Between the end of the joke
And the outburst of the laughter.
Between the completion of the journey
And the beginning of another.

This collection stands on its own. It is also a companion volume to Dr. Nicole Lee's earlier work, "Two Simple Circles", for those emerging from long periods of healing back into living.
Through every line, pause, and angle, the thirty-six passages within invite the reader to explore what the experience of living means to them.
About Dr. Nicole Lee:
Dr. Nicole Lee is the founder of The Consciousness Centre in Singapore. A former physician and certified regression therapist, she spent fifteen years in medical practice across the full arc of human life before transitioning to support individuals navigating the deeper dimensions of healing and consciousness.
Alongside her writing and publishing work, she offers Recognition & Orientation sessions online worldwide for those who have lived through long phases of inner or healing work and sense they may be at a natural turning point from healing to living.
Through her years in medicine, therapeutic work, writing, mothering, and the rhythms of daily life, Nicole came to see that healing does not culminate in perfection or transcendence, but in balance and presence within living. Her attention has shifted from extracting meaning from suffering and healing to allowing meaning to arise naturally from living itself.
Her current work as an author, publisher, and Healing to Living Practitioner supports others in recognising and inhabiting what comes after a similar transition to the one she once lived through.
"Seeing the Same Thing in a Different Light" is her sixth book, and the second of the Lupint House books, works that invite the subconscious into conversation with the conscious mind.
