Sophie English graduated from the London College of Fashion in 1992 and went on to work with various designers including Nicole Farhi. She began her business in 1993 making couture clothes and launched her first bridal wear collection in 1995 which sold through her showroom in Pimlico as well as a wholesale collection selling through retailers across the UK at Harrods, Liberty and Dickins & Jones. A chance meeting with a restaurant manager who was dissatisfied with her current staff uniforms started a new successful venture offering designer uniforms to clients who well-thought, well-cut practical outfits. Sophie also teaches a Dressmaking Skills course at Westdean College, an internationally renowned study center, specializing in crafts and visual arts.
